I can now blindly say that I am the very first to add Paarthshaala songs, because I am the first:)... I just could listen the first song 'Aye Khuda' and found it to be good.. I hope Paathshala has songs for kids, as we haven't had much of them in recent past.. BTW, music is composed by Hanif Sheikh.
Paathshaala is a upcoming film featuring Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, and Nana Patekar and is directed by Milind Ukey. The film revolves around kids set in a school campus. It comments on the Indian education system and its shortcomings. Kapoor plays an English and music teacher in the film. Hope this film is great.

Hindi Songs | Hum Tum Aur Ghost (2010)

Hum Tum Aur Ghost is a good album with at least a couple of numbers doing quite well - 'Dekho Raste Mein' and 'Banware Se Pooche Banwariya'. Since there isn't much time remaining for the release of the film (which would have a telling on the music sales as well), the need of the hour is to aggressively promote these two tracks to generate higher sales figures. It would be a pity if these songs go unnoticed.
Even without going through the credits, it wouldn't have been difficult to figure out that 'Dekho Raste Mein' is the work of Sankar-Ehsaan-Loy. A beautiful tune with a classy feel to it, 'Dekho Raste Mein' is one of the better tracks to have arrived this year so far. The 'mukhda' is highly addictive with both KK and Shreya Ghoshal thoroughly enjoying their outing. Javed Akhtar's lyrics too are sweet and simple while well conveying the emotions of a couple who have just discovered love. For a track like this, one does wonder if a 'remix version' was indeed required. However, the makers do believe otherwise and as it turns out, it is not a wrong decision at all, as evidenced in the club mood that 'Dekho Raste Mein' ends up creating. Wait, there is more. 80 seconds into this version and there is a slight 'bhangra' touch imparted as well with Arshad Warsi himself preceding it with his own rap rendition. Not bad!

Tum Milo To Sahi is a tale of ordinary people at different stages of life, who discover that 'their roots have intertwined so inseparably that they have become one tree and not two!' The film revolves around 'art and fortunate accident' happens to three different couples at three different stages of life - late teens, mid thirties and late fifties. The three couples either in the 'breathlessness of being in love' or missing 'that excitement'. Wherever they may be to begin with, the journey of life makes them discover true love - that which is left over, when 'being in love' has burned away. Tum Milo To Sahi is a look at how that love makes the lives of these ordinary people, extra-ordinary!

Vishnu (Abhay Deol), a restless young man, itches to escape his father's faltering hair oil business.
An old truck beckons, which, Vishnu sees as his ticket to freedom. He offers to drive the antique Chevy across the desert to the sea, where it has been sold to a local museum. As he sets off across the harsh terrain of desert India, he discovers he's not merely transporting a battered vehicle but an old touring cinema.
Along the way, Vishnu reluctantly picks up a young runaway (Mohammed Faizal Usmani), a wandering old entertainer (Satish Kaushik) and a striking gypsy woman (Tannishtha Chatterjee - Brick Lane). Together they roam in the barren land, searching for water and an elusive fair. The journey turns dire when they are waylaid by corrupt cops and a notorious water lord.
The key to their freedom is the eccentric collection of films and the two forty-year-old film projectors in the back of the truck. As in '1001 Nights', if the films are good, they live and move on. If the films are boring, they face death in the outback.
The journey proves transformative for each of the travelers, but especially for Vishnu who discovers life, love and laughter on the Indian highway.
Produced by the US-based Ross Katz and Susan B. Landau, and presented by The Indian Film Company and Studio 18, the script of the Dev Benegal-directed feature was an official selection at the L'Atelier du Cannes in 2006. Road, Movie (in Hindi) is India's first breakthrough feature at TIFF'09 - an official selection that will have a world premiere at The Winter Garden Theatre on September 18' 2009.

Hindi Songs | Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke (2010)

In this rather short album, eventually it is only 'Agar Hum Tum Ko' that one ends up revisiting. Yes, Sukhwinder's version of the title song 'Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke' is nice too but eventually it stays on to be strictly situational. However, it would be expecting a little too much for the album to make its presence felt at the stands, especially when some of the bigger albums with much more saleable names are also struggling to attract many listeners.
Ever selective Remo Fernandes is back rendering a mainstream number in the form of title song Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke. A song that establishes the character of a central protagonist who arrives from a small town to the city of Mumbai, Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke tries to be all fun and lively but doesn't cover much distance other than sounding like an ad jingle for Doordarshan. Yes, Remo is spirited in his singing but overall the song doesn't quite cut much ice and at maximum appears as the kind that plays in the opening credit rolls.

There are certain set expectations that one has from the music of a sport based films. A couple of inspirational tracks, a situational song or two and then a theme track/ background piece. This is the reason why doesn't expect a chartbuster outing from Lahore which has music by M M Kreem, lyrics by Junaid Wasi with Panchhi Jalonvi and Piyush Mishra as the guest writers.
An anthem track which can be expected to play at numerous junctures in the film, 'Ab Ye Kaafila' is about the bunch of sportspersons marching ahead in their pursuit of success. A situational track rendered by KK, Karthik and M M Kreem, it has a smooth flow to it and refrains from turning loud. Saving itself from the trap of turning overtly patriotic and predictable, 'Ab Ye Kaafila' is easy on ears even though it comes across as an ad jingle.

Hindi Songs | Shaapit (2010)

Even though the music of Shaapit doesn't quite go all the way in meeting the good expectations that one had from it, there aren't any songs that are a turn off either. Yes, mind-blowing chartbusters are missing in this Chirantan Bhatt album but still at least a couple of songs like 'Chaahata Dil Tumko' and 'Shaapit Hua' do manage to make a good impact. These two tracks should be harnessed to the fullest to help the album register good sales since there is still a month to go before the film arrives in theatres.
From this point on Chirantan Bhatt and Sameer take over the proceedings. To go with the title and situation of the song, 'Ajnabi Hawaayein' has a whiff of air brought alive at the very opening moment. Shreya Ghoshal gets into the 'Gumnaam Hai Koyi' mode for this quintessential 'bhatakti aatma' song which is just perfect for the kind of situation one can expect in the film. There is an element of horror and love interspersed with each other in 'Ajnabi Hawaayein' which automatically transports a listener to a 'veeran jungle' with a haunted house somewhere in the background. Strictly situational!
